5-Layer Sintered Wire Mesh
 
   
Sintering is a process that improves the characteristics of woven wire mesh by bonding the contact points of all the wires together to form a mesh whose wires are securely fused in place. This is achieved through a combination of heat and pressure, and the result is a single layer sintered wire mesh.
   
Our 5-layer laminate is a standard and widely used type of sintered wire mesh . A single layer of fine woven wire mesh is placed between two layers of coarser square woven meshes, which is then added to two layers of a strong Dutch woven wire mesh and sintered together to form a strong plate. The single layer of fine woven wire mesh acts as the filtration layer, and can be customized to meet a particular filtration rating, ranging from 1 micron to 200 microns.
   
These layers generally consist of 316L stainless steel wire mesh , but special alloys such as Hastelloy®, Monel®, Inconel®, Alloy 20 etc. can be incorporated as well.
   
Our standard size is a 2'x4′ or 4'x4′ sheet, but different size discs, tubes, larger sheets and cones can be fabricated.
   
Perforated Metal Sintered Wire Mesh

This type of sintered wire mesh laminate is made by taking several layers of woven wire mesh and sintering them to a layer of perforated metal. The woven wire mesh layers consist of a filter layer, a protective layer, and possibly a buffer layer between the fine mesh layer and the perforated plate. The perforated plate is then added as the base and the entire structure is sintered together to form a very strong yet tractable plate.
Due to the support of the perforated plate, this type of sintered wire mesh laminate has a high resistance to pressure and high mechanical strength. It is suitable for a variety of applications which require fine filtration, but also the need to protect and preserve the filtration layer. One example of an application is in oil wells, where fine particles need to be filtered under extremely high-pressure conditions.
In general, we use 316L stainless steel wire mesh for the woven wire mesh layers, and 304 stainless steel for the perforated plate. Other special alloys can be incorporated as well.
The woven wire mesh layers can be customized to meet a filtration rating, and the thickness of the perforated plate as well as the type of perforations can be customized as well.
Our standard size is 2'x4′, or 4'x4′, but different size sheets and discs can be made as well. This type of sintered mesh laminate is often used in tube form. These sintered filter tubes can be custom made with a variety of diameters and lengths.
   
Plain Weave Sintered Square Woven Wire Mesh
 
   
This type of sintered wire mesh laminate is made by sintering multiple layers of plain weave square woven wire mesh together. Because of the large open area percentages of the square woven wire mesh layers, this type of sintered wire mesh laminate has good permeability characteristics and low resistance to flow. It can be designed with any number and combination of square plain weave wire mesh layers to achieve particular flow and filtration characteristics. This type of sintered wire mesh laminate is useful for polymer production, as well as a variety of fluid and air filtration applications. Other common applications include sieve plates, aeration filters, hydraulic filters, hydraulic valve screens, and pulp forming molds for egg cartons, apple trays, and paper plates.
Another possibility with this type of stainless steel sintered wire mesh laminate is the ability to sinter a large number of layers of square woven wire mesh together to form parts that are very thick and useful as flame and detonation arrestors. These laminates can be inches thick and still be made with high flow characteristics.
As with our other sintered wire mesh laminates, the layers are generally made with stainless steel wire mesh, but other special alloys may be used.
This stainless steel sintered wire mesh laminate is produced in 2'x4′ or 4'x4′ sheets, and can then be cut and fabricated into various discs, tubes, filter cartridges, and flat panels.
   
Dutch Woven Sintered Wire Mesh(Sintered Dutch Weave Mesh)
 
   
This type of sintered wire mesh laminate is made by sintering 2 to 3 layers of plain Dutch woven wire mesh together. This type of stainless steel sintered wire mesh laminate has evenly spaced openings and good permeability to flow. It also has very good mechanical strength due to the heavy dutch woven wire mesh layers.
Sintered wire mesh laminate is commonly used in fluidized bed applications, and is useful for transporting powders and other dry solid materials.
As with our other sintered wire mesh laminates, the layers are generally made with stainless steel wire mesh , but other special alloys may be used.
