Working Principle
The shallow sand filter uses natural sea sand as the filter medium. Under a certain pressure, the water with high turbidity is filtered through a certain thickness of granular or non-granular natural sea sand, effectively intercepting and removing suspended solids, Organic matter, colloidal particles, microorganisms, chlorine, smell and some heavy metal ions, etc., and finally achieve a high-efficiency filtration device that reduces water turbidity and purifies water quality.
Filter Status:
The shallow sand filter is composed of several filter units arranged side by side. When the system is in the filtering state, the unfiltered water is evenly distributed through the self-developed water distributor, and the water passes through the packing layer (natural sea sand) in the filter in a laminar flow state. When water flows through the packing layer, impurities are trapped in the packing layer. There are multiple evenly distributed water collectors at the bottom of the filter, which collect and lead out the filtered water evenly, and filter in advection, so that the filter can filter at a high flow rate and still achieve a better filtering effect.
Backwash Status:
With the continuous accumulation of impurities in the packing layer, the internal head loss will continue to increase. When the loss of the inlet and outlet water pressure head reaches the set value, the system will automatically set the pressure difference device to switch to the backwashing state. When the backwashing of this unit is over, the hydraulic valve will change the water supply direction to realize backwashing one by one, which is more convenient Cleans away accumulated impurities.
When the system enters the backwashing state, change the on-off position of the three-way valve through PLC control (inlet is closed, the dirty port is opened), and the filtered water in other filter tanks flows into the filter tank to be backwashed. The packing layer of the filter unit that is backwashed due to the system pressure is washed up under the impact of the water flow, and the impurities are discharged through the sewage outlet of the three-way valve.
